Nature of the Beast Page 18
Bg let out a low whistle of appreciation. He was decked out in a black suit with a white shirt and black tie. His hair was brushed back and he looked every bit as smooth as someone who did love rat packer Dean Martin’s songs.
“You look devastatingly handsome “Bg stated, turning back to face her mirror.
Paris walked up behind her and kissed the back of her neck, where his mark from where he’d claimed her was. It was now a darker brown against her skin. He looked over her shoulder into the mirror. “May I?” He asked with his hand resting on the back zip of her dress. Bg nodded her head silently. Dropping her hands away as she watched him back in the mirror.
“So uh, where’d you get the suit? Happen to have a spare Armani laying around in the Porsche or something?” She joked nervously trying to fill in the silence.
Paris laughed with her lightly. “Right. Actually Booker, the big lug was kind enough to bring a suit around for me to wear and it turns out, we’re practically the same size, only I’m a fraction taller than him.” Paris offered her by way of explanation.
“Well, being tall is everything.” Bg said her lips quirking up to a small smile looking at him through the mirror in front of them as he slowly zipped her up.
“Not quite everything. I thought having power was everything, getting to use that power when it was called for. But then I met this hot Breukelen who kind of made me re-think about some things.” He said as she turned around to stand face to face with him. He bent his head towards, close to her, in her space. Looking deep into her brown eyes he saw her pain and wished he could take it away from her.
“I know you don’t want to hear this,” he said in a whisper to her, leaning his forehead onto hers. “But I wish I could carry your pain, take it away from you.” Bg nodded her head and looked back at him.
“I get it. But you can be what I can’t when I’m not. You can be strong, you can shield, and you can make sure you don’t cause my hurt. Like I can do the same for you. I’ve never suffered a broken heart before.” She said looking at him with a little smile and playing with his tie. “And this week, is a week of many firsts, I thought I was going to suffer two broken hearts, yours and mine. But I think, we’re going to be good,” Bg smiled at him a little brighter.
“So don’t you cry tonight. It’s my turn. You see, my dad would have loved to have met you outside of work, really gotten to know you properly and since he can’t do that. I’m going to keep dating you, so I can do him and me proud of getting to know you Paris D’Arenberg of the Manhattan Maen. Because I really do believe, love is a many splendored thing and that the thing, is us, even under these extreme…few days, I going to believe that.” She said running her hands over his tie.
“Why are you so good to me? I don’t think I’ve given you enough reason to be.”
“We are who we are Paris and I’m not out to change you or that. I have no doubt, we’ll clash over things. But I still love you. Like, you know, ninety nine precent of you.” She laughed lightly.
“Hmm, this is a first for me too, never had a date, tell me I’m anything but perfect.” He joked lightly kissing her cheek.
“Pftt,” Bg uttered waving a hand at him as they broke apart and she slipped on her black patent vinyl high heels. “Those girls were totally lying, I’m the real deal baby.”
Paris nodded his head as he put his hands in his pants pockets waiting for her. “Of that, I’ve no doubt. Are you always this much trouble during lunar week?” He asked as she stood up and smoothed her dress down again. She arched a fine eyebrow up at him in response.
“What’s a matter? Afraid? Not up for one of life’s more interesting challenges?” She asked pointing at herself. “Because big guy, we’re only mid-way, night four buddy, we’ve still got three more nights of whatever will be, will be, to get through. Think you can handle it?”
“Are you still in heat?” He asked cheekily, already knowing the answer to his own question.
“No, thankfully.” She replied. “So it’ll just be me, all of me, the regular amount of trouble me.” She looked at him. “You up for that kind of girl, now that you’ve experienced all the other extremes of me?”
“Piece of cake.” He said casually waving his hand at her as he reached for other hand as they walked out together.
“Altijd” She asked him smiling at him. “It’s Dutch.” She explained whispering it in his ear. “It means always.”

Werewolf Storm
I guess you could say I was having the day from hell.
Well, it didn’t exactly start out that way, and I may have caused a little of the trouble myself, when I managed to ditch the protective detail of werewolf bodyguards who were assigned to me. But beyond that, the rest of my day, was well and truly outside of my control. Which was a bit like my life as a Breukelen pack werewolf.
Meeting shape shifting doctor, Megan Marisini from the Neiwe Teme Pack in New Jersey, New York, kind of blew my mind well and truly open. Nothing like discovery you’re not who you thought you were for your whole life, to change your day. That and say a super storm. I didn’t know about the warnings and couldn’t evacuate in time to before the storm hit and tilted my world on an axis I never saw coming.

Two of the males pursuing her are from her own pack and proving more than a enough to keep up with. Nick Olsen an alpha and Boden Jennings a beta werewolf who are always fighting one another. They’re supposed to be the better option, than giving herself over to another pack’s alpha male or having to win her right to date, through dominance fighting.
But Bodil finds her paws full when neither male will back down and she can’t figure out what she wants, let alone who she wants, as well as having to stop an impending turf war with another werewolf pack, all before full moon. Who new dating was so complicated?
New York, leave it to the wolves.

Revenge
What happens to a werewolf on a lunar eclipse? Well, one werewolf in particular. The follow on from Reasons. Gabby and Bg sort out a few differences between them.
Reasons
Everything happens for a reason, right? And everybody's got their reasons for doing what they do, right? So explain to me, Breukelen Girl, why an Alpha female werewolf hates my guts enough to try and kill me.
This is the story of what happens when two female werewolves, one Alpha - and one Beta - from differing packs, do not get along and animosity grows into hatred and hatred becomes, an action that in unavoidable. For either werewolf.
Lycan La Vida Loca
My love life is complicated. Because I'm a werewolf. I think it's always been complicated. In part due to my first serious romance. Because he's my alpha pack mate's friend. My pack mate doesn’t know this. To make matters trickier, my first true love is a lycan. Werewolves look down on lycans. So how would my pack mate look at me, if he knew I'd given my virginity to a lycan?
Werewolves do not like to think of lycans as equals to them. So to fall in love with a lycan would be considered bad for a werewolf like Breukelen Girl. But to fall in love and then make love to a lycan, would be considered the worst thing a werewolf could do.
Especially for a werewolf like Breukelen Girl, from the leading pack family in Brooklyn, New York.
Of Wolf and Male
My love life is complicated. Because I’m a Werewolf. I broke up with my boyfriend, he’s from the same pack as me. He doesn’t appreciate me going out with an Alpha male from another New York Pack. Males, wolves, I swear they’re all the same. They just want to claim something as they’re own. Namely me.
Two male werewolves, one beta, one alpha and one female. An ex boyfriend, a new boyfriend, two different packs. Somehow all the trouble that involves the female wolf at the center of their interest, comes down to who slept with her first. Who she has given her virginity to.
It'd shock both male wolves if they found out it was neither one of them.
Perception
At the age of fourteen I was attacked by a pack of wild wolves, at the age of fifteen I found out there were wolves attacking humans in my home town of Brooklyn. This was the beginning of my relationship w
ith Booker Parish. A lycan. A big no-no in the werewolf world.
One I couldn't resist.
Growing up Werewolf
I was fourteen years old once. I was a naive pup. Waiting for my shape shift to happen for the first time. The thing with a first time is it’s always the time you remember. The one that you carry with you always in the back of your mind. You think you know what to expect, but you never do. Especially if you don’t see it coming and it’s nothing like you imagined. Nothing you’ve been told before. It can’t be undone once it’s done.
Once you become a werewolf.
