She turns and looks up at Dylan. “You know, Booker’s just got through one hell of a week and I wanted to talk to him, make sure he was alright.” Trinity says. “Could you leave us, to do that?” He looks unhappy at the thought but kisses the top of her head and unwinds his arm from her.

“My wife, has a wildly free spirit.” Dylan says back at me “Try not to be long.” He says looking at Trinity and we watch him head back to the bedroom again.

She lets out a heavy sigh and sculls her remaining drink. “Trinity, what is going on here, is everything alright between you two?” I ask her, more for the fact that I’m wondering if I can save the day and get the damsel.

“Dylan is a Seattle Alki,” She says at me and I understand immediately probably what she is dealing with. Bg has a friend from the Seattle Alki pack. I’ve never met any of them but the pack has a reputation for being very tough and strong. Like the Bruekelen, it has great leadership and well respected leading pack family. “Just like you’re a Breukelen,” She says waving a hand at me. Acknowledging for the first time, that she knows, I’m a wolf too. I wonder how long she has known.

“He’s an alpha from the leading pack family and he is normally, when he’s not feeling possessive and challenged, “ Trinity says slowly. “He’s charismatic and loving.” She sighs. “We’ve been together for quite awhile. We’ve been working through some things. Only recently has he started coming down to New York to visit me. You probably think I’m a bad mother.”

I shake my head. “I know you’re not a bad person Trinity and I understand it, you were young and overwhelmed and unsure. I get it, honestly I do. I’m not a werewolf like Dylan is. I’m a lycan, which is probably what he picked up on when he came out here posturing for you. You know werewolves are born, lycans are made.” I say back at her. “And I was made when I was Seventeen. Talk about overload. I don’t know how it is in the Seattle Alki pack, but down here in New York, there’s a distinct caste system around werewolves and lycans. We’re kind of frowned upon.”

“Does you being a lycan have something to do with why you were attacked?” She asks me directly.

“A little bit, but not really.” I answer her picking up the whiskey bottle again. “Being a lycan, it uh, messes you up basically.” I say with a bitter smile. “And when you get, made as such, are basically attacked by a werewolf. They tear you up, cut through your skin, pull your muscles apart. They unmake you, shred your self worth, with teeth like razors and claws like talons, they bite and pull and chew, and tear and rip and almost kill you. Almost.” I say picking up my glass and refilling it. It never gets any easier talking about the attack, I always end up feeling the same. Even being around Trinity can’t change that.

Trinity is clutching her drink in both hands, her arms against her chest, her eyes wide and glassy. She looks horrified and upset.

“This happened to you?” She says softly.

“To me and my brother Hooper. But needless to say, we survived.” I look at my glass and put it back down. “It messed us both up for a long time and we both coped with it in our own way. For me, it meant, keeping anyone who wasn’t a wolf, werewolf or lycan, at bay and on the fringes of my life, rather than in it.” I say looking down at her. “And I thought for the longest time possible, that I was uh, still in love with my first love, a werewolf female I met after I became a lycan. And week before last, I finally decided to do the big romantic, hero gesture and go get her, and steal her away from her pack mate and tell her I loved her and she should marry me instead of him.”

  “Oh.”

“So, as you can imagine, yourself, being a pack mate of a werewolf, that didn’t go down so well for me. Especially considering he’s an Alpha too.”

Her eyes go wide. “Booker you’re lucky to be alive.”

“Yeah, I know. Two werewolf attacks on me that left me for dead in my lifetime and I’m lucky.” I say making quotation marks with my fingers. “After this attack, I’ve been doing some thinking and you know, I want to get my life in order, I want to stop obsessing about her. When she’s out of reach. And I guess, I came over here because I was trying to trick myself into believing, the reason we’d never gotten together was because I’d kept you at arms length.”

“Oh Booker, I’m so sorry, I never meant to make you think that you and I,” She trails off. “Dylan and I have been together for, well forever.”

“Do you love him?” I ask her.

“Yes, I’ve never stopped loving him. Even when we separated.” She doesn’t hesitate in her answer.

“I’m sorry I made a fool out of us both coming around here like this.” I say pushing out the stool from the bench and standing up.

“Booker, you’re not the only one with a secret life and keeping people on the fringes of it. We’re both at fault here. So drop the guilt otherwise, you’ll never be able to love fully. And you need to realize, you’re entitled to be loved Booker. Lycan or not.”

I look back at her. “So what about you and Dylan, what’s happening there?” I ask her genuinely interested for her, and not my own reasons. I can appreciate that Trinity is a good friend. But a friend is all she’ll ever be to me.

She sighs. “I’m moving back to Seattle to be with him and we are trying for a second pup.” She says using the werewolf terminology for baby.

  “What about the club?”

“I’ll get someone to run it from here, at a ground level, I’ll act more like a business partner. Don’t worry that doesn’t change anything for you. I mean, you’ve got shares in Wonderland so really, that’s the same. You can continue to work there as well, there’s no change over with jobs. I’m just going to be a little less hands on and not so visible.” She sighs. “I’m ready to move back to Seattle with my family.”

“How do you know when you’re ready to move on?” I ask her in all earnest seriousness.

Trinity shrugs her shoulders. “I’m not sure, maybe it’s just something you have to figure out yourself, you know?”

I wish I did know. But I still feel uncertain. But for now, given recent events, I’m happy to just play along and be the pack wolf that I am. “Thank you Trinity. For everything.” I say back at her. She walks around the bench and walks me back to the front door.

“Try not to get into anymore trouble, would you?” She says unlatching the door.

“You gonna come and rescue me if I do?” I ask with a cheeky smile at her.

“No, but I might be able to send Dylan your way.” She answers me opening the door.

I nod my head and bend down to kiss her cheek. “Love that wild spirit.” I say into her ear before straightening up and stepping through the door and back out into the night. She closes the door behind me and I sigh. This isn’t how I saw my night going, or the re-start to my life ahead going. But I don’t feel as devastated as I have previously when crashing and burning. It’s not like she ripped my heart out and left me nothing. Maybe it just takes time to know what you want and how to get it without damaging yourself in the mean time. Stumbling along the way is all fine and good, as long as you keep going forward, and remembering to stand up.

I jump off the porch and head down to my parked car. Maybe it’s just, that nobody can tell me how to be. Because nobody is me, but me.

  Red White and Werewolf

Awaking far from her home in Brooklyn New York, Bg finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings two other kidnapped werewolves, Phelan and Thane Cavello, alpha werewolf males. Together with the werewolves, must work together to escape being hunted, by a powerfully terrifying, relentless enemy. Even if it means, disobeying werewolf pack laws and territory lines.

But for Tatum Lee, she can only truly achieve the life her and Wiatt want together, if she lets go of the ghosts of her past life. Which means acknowledging she’s now a lycan by confronting the wolf who made her one. Wiatt’s none to happy about it but agrees to accompany Tatum to Boston so she can settle her past pain, and find out about the bloodlines running through her now. But leaving Boston, might not be an option if the past has anything to say about Tatum and Wiatt’s life ahead.

  Wolves At The Door

The werewolf across the hall from Hooper Parish’s place is hot. So damn hot that Hooper can’t help but pay attention to him so badly that all he wants to do is submit to the Alpha werewolf, Thane Cavello.

But Hooper has issues. One; he hates werewolves, two; he hates werewolf packs, three; he hates lycans and four; he hates himself because he is a lycan. Made by a werewolf after an attack, seventeen years ago. Can he learn to love himself enough to be loved in return? Do you let the wolf that you are define you or the one you could be?

Falling for Thane was always going to be a challenge and a complicating one at that for Hooper to work out. Add families from both sides of each male to the mix, and secrets are going to get exposed, and love will challenge loyalty because of it. Who do these wolves trust, when it can’t be their own kind and their hearts know no better? Leaving Hooper with another issue to add to his list; like what does he want out of his lycan life, a pack mate, love, or family?

  Wolves

Tatum Lee is a lycan. She knows it. She can’t help but not know it, because it seems everyone is always reminding her of it. Being a lycan isn’t exactly a title you wear with pride, far from it. In New York City, home to the Manhattan Maen werewolf pack, it’s the last thing she wants to announce upon her arrival there. Tatum just wants to be left alone. But it seems that isn’t going to happen.

Especially when she captures the attention of Wiatt D’arenberg, enforcer for the Manhattan Maen pack. It’s Wiatt’s job to ensure there are no lycan in the Manhattan Maen’s territory, including Tatum. But once she’s on his radar, he can’t seem to get her off it.

Having an untrained, lycan in his territory, on a lunar week means it’s up to Wiatt to ensure she’s not a danger to his pack or the public, and that means taming her. If he can tame his feelings towards the wolf he’s not supposed to want, first.

  Wolves Love

Werewolves are real. Tatum Lee knows that only too well. Ever since she was attacked by one and infected with lycanthropy. But werewolves do not like lycans. Humans who have been turned into wolves, not born a werewolf. Tatum has had more than her share of experiencing their dislike of her kind.

There are many werewolves in New York City, pack werewolves. Luckily she has Wiatt D’arenberg, a more than friendly Manhattan Maen werewolf to help her out. As Tatum adjusts to life in Manhattan with Wiatt, she slowly glimpses more of the werewolf pack culture.

She finds herself put in a position of expectation with their law and ways without little thought for herself. But if it means living and loving Wiatt, then she is willing to do that. Except, there are other wolves who do not believe lycans and
werewolves should mix and will see to it that Wiatt and Tatum are torn apart. Literally if necessary.

Tatum finds herself in a hard position that might just tear her and Wiatt apart first, before anyone else can get to them. How can they stay together with so many factors are trying to drive them apart? Werewolf love is hard. But werewolves love even harder.
